Robo’-Robo’
Held to commemorate
the Great “Opu Daeng Manambon” founder of the Mempawah Kingdom in
1673. By doing Azan (Moslem Praying Call) and praying to God the Great
Almighty for the safety of local people, the event held in Ship Armada
on the ocean.
This event is a year-round event, held every last Wednesday on Syafar
Month in Hijriah Year (Moslem calendar). There will be various local
art and cultural performance held in the City of Mempawah (Kuala
Mempawah).

The purpose of this
exhibition is “green-ing” the city of Serang as the capital of Banten
Province, Indonesia. Local resident economic improvement is also
expected from the love of plants and flora, yet also contributing
oxygen for the world. In addition to the ceremonial of 1000 mass tree
planting, local art performances will also be available such as “Debus”,
”Marawis”, etc.

Putri Bau Nyale Mandalika Festival
It is linked to a
popular folklore of a beautiful princess Putri Mandalika, who
willingly sacrified herself by jumping into the sea and promising a
return in the form of the Nyale (sea worms). This event is usually
participated in by youngsters.

Fascinating Sun
Culmination in the Equator Line.
Witnessing
spectacular nature phenomenon as the Sun crossing right through the
equator line (zero latitude) on the 11:55 at local time (GMT +07:00),
this phenomenon occur every March, 21-23 and September 21-23.
Shadows near the Equator Monument in Pontianak will be vanished in
approximately 5 minutes period as the Sun position is in a straight
line above the equator. Other parallel events are exhibition, culture
festival and performance stage.

sport competition. Equator young men and lady contest, also seminars,
will be held, thus attracting the young and old alike.
